Let's get back to the girls....

So this is fantastic. Elijah and I were having a snuggle this morning- and I said..."I just need to hug my boy!" And I started hugging him and kissing him and making him squeal and scream. Then the conversation went something like this.

Elijah: "Mom we don't hug dinosaurs."

Me: "No we don't hug dinosaurs"

Elijah: "We don't hug bears."

Me: "No- we don't hug bears....do we hug alligators?"

Elijah: "NO! No alligators!"............."BUT WE HUG LITTLE GIRLS!!"

Me: (laughing) "Yep...we sure do... we hug little girls. Little girls are the best- just like little boys.  ..... Well buddy  we need to get cleaned up. Let's get back to business."

Elijah:  "Let's get back to the little girls."

HILARIOUS.

Moab

We went to Moab with a bunch of our besties and hiked Arches National Park and camped for a weekend. The company was fantastic and the weather...while insanely windy and dry, was just right. Not too hot, not too cold. It was so great to hang with friends and see some of Utah's greatest sights. I had never been to Arches before so it was quite the adventure for me. We hiked up to delicate arch (which I was SUPER proud that I accomplished) and even the kids did great on it. The only downfall was the snake that we saw on the trail that had me looking over my shoulder every two minutes worried that my Elijah was going to find another one to try and pick up. Anyway- here are some pictures from our adventure.

This is what made the delicate arch hike so hard. Literally three miles climbing up and down the rock face in the sun. No shade and pretty steep. Eeek.

Landscape Arch. So pretty.

This next picture was pretty much how we found Elijah 99% of the time. He would find the dirtiest, dustiest, most desolate looking spot and lay down on the ground and roll around in the dirt. Boys are so weird. Seriously.

And last but not least my favorite picture of the group. On our way home we stopped off and Gramp's and Gram's house to say hi and Kennedy was informed that she could wait until morning to get her hair done and we would just give her a bath and wash it that night. I swear she looks happier about not having to have her hair done than she did when we told her we were taking her to Disneyland. Hilarious. Thanks Erin, Zar, Katie, Alex, Marsha, Aaron, and my sweet hubby for an awesome trip. You guys are the best.

Love is a Battlefield

The other day we went to the park for a BBQ with some friends. It was the perfect summer and the perfect summer activity. It feels so great to have more time to be able to do all of the fun things now that school is out and the weather is perfect.
My Elijah is desperately in love with 3 different girls. His besties- Caroline, Ella, and Ava. (Especially Ava though) He couldn't decide which one to follow around like a lost puppy dog and kept switching between all of them, Hugging them randomly and trying to hold their hands. Super cute. While I am a little worried about how all of that will play out if he is that fickle when he gets to his teens- I love it right now. Anyhow- Elijah was giving 100% of his attention to little Ava- and adorable Ella comes and says " I love you Elijah!" then he leaves Ava to go off with Ella. Kennedy watching the scene and standing by Ava's mom and myself- shakes her head somberly and says (Huge sigh) "Love is a battlefield." CRACKED ME UP!!!
I guess it's true. Love is a battlefield. Even when you are three.

My Kindergarten Graduate!

My baby girl graduated Kindergarten!! I can't believe that she is done and headed for first grade. I remember every detail of the day that she was born like it was just a few weeks ago. Makes me kind of sad that she is growing up so fast- but I am oh so proud of her!! She was so excited at her little graduation ceremony! She pretty good with her final report card and only had 2 areas where she "needed improvement". Subtraction, and paying attention in class. I had to smile a little bit at that one- she is such a little chatterbox when she is in her comfort zone. A Lot of people don't believe me when I say that because most of the time she is so painfully shy- but when she is comfortable she will talk your ear off and not stop to take a breath!

I love my feisty, sweet, super smart Kindergarten Grad!
