Cute Kids-

My life is so fun right now. I am so exhausted that I can hardly see straight. My son is up all night long- as most new parents are fully aware of...and every time that he wakes up screaming- by little girlfriend wakes up too. But- with all of the diapers and the spitting up and the rare moments of precious alone time with my awesome husband- I am loving my life. Kennedy is so sweet with her little brother. She is constantly kissing him and cooing at Him. I love it.

So- Yesterday I was just crazy tired. I seriously wanted a nap SOOO bad- but Kenna's energy was out of control and she just wanted some mom attention. I finally got Elijah down for a nap- and Kennedy was playing with some toys in her room- so I went to the bathroom for 5 seconds of peace and quiet. So- I'm in there just soaking up the silence when Kenna barges in the bathroom and starts chattering about who knows what. I start trying to tell her - hey there girlfriend...ya don't just barge in the bathroom on people...and she comes up to me with these BIG huge gorgeous eyes and says to me..."Mommy...you are the prettiest mommy in the WHOLE world!.......Except for right now." HA! I just started cracking up! I thought that was so hilarious! What a kid she is.

Elijah just continues to delight me. He is such an EASY baby compared to Kennedy. Kenna had some major issues as a baby and screamed right through her first few months. But Elijah just chills. Don't get me wrong....he'll completely let me have it if he feels it's warranted...but then he'll give me the sweetest little smiles and life just feels good. I never in a million years thought I would get to have a son. I mean- with adoption- it's just a miraculous thing that anyone would be willing to entrust you with their child...and when we were matched with His birthmom and we thought it was a girl- I just thought that was it. BUT- he has been an absolute joy- and seriously the best surprise gift ever!

Mmmm! My delicious chocolate GQ baby!! What a stud!

4/16/2010- Me- "Kenna can you tell me the days of the week?" Kenna- "SURE! I know all of them! Sunday, Thursday, Wednesday, Spring, Summer, October and Christmas!"
8/22/2009- "Mommy who's going to entertain me while you're at work today?"
8/19/2009-Kenna- "I think today I will pretend that I am having a picnic with great-grandma and great-grandpa."...Grandma- "Oh! That sounds like fun!" Kenna- "No- actually it will be boring."
8/15/2009-"Today would be a fine day for country skiing at the North Pole."
5/25/2009-"Heavenly Father, please bless that we can do the things that we never do- so that I can get to do them..."
5/23/2009- "Heavenly Father, please bless me that I can have whatever I want."
5/3/2009- After evening prayers Kenna looks up at McCarrey and says- " Dad- Let's get this crazy girl to bed!" Made me laugh.
2/21/2009- I broke a vase and it shattered glass all over the floor. McCarrey says-"Oops- guess I better sweep the floor..." and Kenna says in this loud exasperated voice- "Oh Man! Daddy! Sweep the floors!! Wash the Dishes!! Feed the Dragon!! What a day!"... Dragon?! huh?!
2/11/2009-"Mommy- I'm glad I'm a girl." Me:"Oh yeah...how come?" Kenna: "Because when Elijah got his diaper changed he peed in his face." Awesome.
2/10/2009- Kenna comes up to me and hands me a plain, blank sheet of paper, and with a huge smile says,"Here mom! I made this for you!" I said, "Oh wow...thanks...what is it?" .......Kenna: "It's a flat surface!" My daughter the genius made me a flat surface...too funny
2/7/2009-"Daddy- why do you have spikes on your face?"
2/5/2009- "Mom did you know that I went to Barney's wedding?" Me: "Oh Yeah... who did he marry?" Kenna: "Handy Manny." Me: ?!?!?!
12/18/2008-I was laughing about some stupid thing that I read and Kennedy looks up at me and starts laughing too- then she says "Oh mom! You silly old goat!" What?! That made me laugh even harder.
12/8/2008-Kennedy- "Guess what mommy- someday I will be as old as you!" Me- "You're right you will- how old am I?" Kennedy- "Fifty."
12/7/2008- Kenna was a little distracted at prayer tonight and is going over every single little thing that she is thankful for- then she opens her eyes- reaches out and grabs a peice of paper on the floor and says "And please bless this peice of garbage. Name of Jesus Christ Amen." Awesome.
12/1/2008-Kennedy walks down the stairs wearing one of daddy's ties and says- "Mommy-do I look like the prophet?"
10/19/2008- Tonight my dad was teasing me and giving me a hard time about something. I was firing back at him and said "Just Shut Up Dad!" Kenna at that point pipes in and says, "Why are you teaching me to say things like that mommy?!" HA! They always say..."And a little child shall lead them..." Open mouth...insert foot.
10/12/2008- I was braiding Kenna's hair and she was playing with the squirt water bottle. She was chattering on about how she was going to clean the house with it and make everything all shiny. Then she stops and says,"Don't listen to me...you can can clean the house just fine mommy."
7/30/2008-"Mommy help me! I'm freaking out!"
7/1/2008-"Here mommy- I made you some dinner- it's your fabilate." (Instead of favorite)
7/1/2008-Last night Kenna was jumping all over me and I said, "Kenna- you need to get down now." and she looks at me and says- "Why? Am I a bad lady?"
6/18/2008-Kennedy wanted to get up on my lap and in a whiny voice with big wide eyes she says, "Mommy I want to sit on your lap- I'm scary!" (Instead of scared.)
6/16/2008-"Mommy- your breath smells like grape."
6/12/2008- (Kenna's last ditch effort to avoid going to bed last night...) "No mommy! I don't want to go to sleep! I want...I want...ANYTHING!!!"
6/7/2008- Mom-"Kenna do you need to go potty?" Kenna- "No I already did!" Mom- "Uh-oh! When did you go? Kenna- "On Sunday!"
6/2/2008- "Mommy- I can smell Stink!"
5/26/2008-We are in the middle of potty training. We got Kenna Princess underwear that has the little mermaid on them. Mac and I are always telling her that she needs to keep the mermaid dry- and that she wouldn't like it if she got all wet.The other day when Kenna didn't quite make it- she came up to Mac and I and said-"Daddy- the mermaid isn't very happy..."
5/25/2008- Kenna likes to make up songs and sing them randomly. Last nights was a beautiful rendition about armpits. Look out American Idol...
5/21/2008- We were over at my parents house and Kenna walks by my dad- stops, and wipes her nose on his pantleg. She then beams- and says,"Here Grandpa! I left some boogers for you!" Gross!
5/21/2008-"Stop that mommy! Don't touch it! It's not yours- its VERY, VERY mine!!"
5/17/2008-I was in my room doing my hair and Kenna runs in the room and says, "Mommy- I have a surprise for you! Close your eyes!" so I did and she drops an object in my lap. As I open my eyes to a very loud- "Surprise!" I find a wet toilet bowl brush in my lap. Awesome.
5/16/2008-"Don't kiss me mommy! You're making me sick!"
5/3/2008-Kennedy runs up to me and says-"Look mom- I made this picture in school!" I said, "Oh- you go to school now?" Kenna- "Yeah! On the streets!"
4/30/2008-We were at Mac's moms house last night and Kenna goes up to her and says "Hi Grandma- my name is Kennedy. Nice to meet you!"
4/28/2008-I was working in the yard and was drinking some gatorade- Kenna comes up to me and says "Mom- can I have some alligator?" (Hey at least she got the "gator" part right!
4/22/2008- I was over at my moms house reading a gossip magazine on the couch. My brother Neil walks over to Kenna and says "What is your mom doing Kennedy?" Kenna- "Ignoring me."
4/22/2008-Last night Kenna runs up to Mac and gives him a huge hug screaming "I did it! I did it all by myself!" Mac asks,"What did you do?" Kenna- "I wiped boogers on your shirt!"
4/16/2008- Mac is always doing little "magic" tricks for Kenna- and she absolutely loves them. Tonight while we were eating dinner- Kennedy blurts out "Daddy! I want some maggots! (Instead of magic) Too funny- especially at the dinner table!
Kennedy was sick on Sunday and I stayed home with her. I sent Mac on ahead to teach our Sunday school class. Kennedy asked me where daddy was and I told her that he was at church and that I felt sad that we were missing it. She looked up at me with horror struck eyes and said "Oh crap! We're missing church!" Red flag to me...watch what I say!
We were walking down the aisle at the store and we passed the ladies section of clothes. Kennedy pointed out a pair of old ladies elastic waist, purple polyester pants and says "Oooh- that's nice!"
I was laughing about some stupid thing that I read and Kennedy looks up at me and starts laughing too- then she says "Oh mom! You silly old goat!" What?! That made me laugh even harder.
